Re: Ollie Lang paintball book. My review may surprise you. Oh, and yes, we are talking about the Ollie Lang who was the 2007 and 2008 World Champion Los Angeles Ironmen...
Here's how it went down...
So I was sitting at my computer one day and I got this email from a guy by the name of Drew. He said he is partners with Ollie Lang for business projects and events.
Drew asked me to review a paintball book that Ollie created. I thought, "Ok, another guy trying to get us to sell their stuff." I said, 'Sure, send it over and I'll take a look at it'. I didn't plan on reviewing it anytime soon, but then, Ollie Lang's name kept coming up and I decided to read the ebook.
I was thinking maybe this guy, Drew, was just using Ollie's name to sell a book (it's a downloadable paintball ebook).
As I opened the Ollie Lang paintball book, I was preparing myself for a glorified version of my free paintball mini course and ebook (which everyone and their mother is ripping off, copying, and pretending it's their own). And man, was I wrong.
Here is my review of the Ollie Lang paintball book:
Ollie goes over in detail the exact steps and techniques to not only understand the sport but more importantly to greatly improve your skill level.
You'll learn a lot more than to shoot with both hands and what the names of the bunkers are (the basics are covered to).
There are many sections and chapters, and there is something for everyone. I particularly like his views on walking the field, snap shooting, run through's, team communication, reading the stream, and bunkering. Just to name a few.
In the new Ollie Lang paintball book you will learn just about everything you need to know to go from newbie to pro. But if you are pro already then maybe this isn't for you. You just need to play paintball more often, listen to your coaches, and work out. But, if you are not pro and don't have a coach, this paintball book by Ollie Lang is the next best thing. Really. It's awesome.
Watch Ollie Lang Take Over...
Olliver Lang has an entire chapter on the Inner Game. Paintball is more mental than it is physical. You know those times when you're on the field during the heat of battle...fear kicks in and your actions are delayed (more than you might think). Hesitation is death in tournament play. Ollie will show you how to get control of your thoughts, squash fear, stay relaxed, and use it as a huge advantage.
Ollie also gives you a video on marker maintenance, and he goes through the essential paintball gear you'll need. It's actually really interesting.
