I would say that your velocity is turned up way to high, turn her down a little and see if it helps. Other than that the only other real reason for this is you are shooting balls that either are a: to small for your barrel, b: are dimpled all to hell, or c: the balls are just older than dirt and all the paint has settled to one side of the paintball. If this is the case get new balls and when you have them laying around the house, take them out once a week and roll them around a little bit and rotate the stock, this will keep them fresh and prevent the paint from gathering to one side.

I've been playing paintball with my Tippmann 98 Custom for 5 years now and it has always performed just as well as my friend's A5, or better, so that's the first I've ever heard of such a problem with a 98, get professional help, because you must have done something wrong to mess up a TIPPMANN that bad.
